In the fast-paced world of executive recruitment, staying ahead of the curve is essential. From 2022 to 2023, as the B2C Product Designer for the Figaro Classifieds group, I undertook the challenge of revitalizing Cadre Emploi, a platform catering to the executive market.

OVERVIEW

Objective
The group wanted to redesign the existing search experience on Cadre Emploi.  Also, we wanted to refactor our infrastructure for the future scale.

Role and Deliverables
In this project, I worked closely with PM and four engineers. I was responsible of the project from defining the problem to the handoff.

Challenges
This project had quite a few technical dependencies with other teams & products, we also needed to deal with many prioritizations to make sure we can deliver MVP on time.

PROBLEM

Cadre Emploi faced a decline in both customer numbers and the diversity of offers. The imbalance in offer distribution, with recruitment agency offers dominating, led to uneven costs per application. Alarmingly, a quarter of candidates didn’t even consider Cadre Emploi when job hunting.

IDEATION

In the early phase of this project, we conducted user research to identify the core problems and get a sense of how job seekers perceive our product. By synthesizing insights through brainstorming and ideation, we uncovered key issues: an underwhelming value proposition for candidates, fierce competition in the market, a value-to-price imbalance, and challenges with the platform’s reputation.

CENTERED DECISIONS AROUND

CANDIDATES
We aimed to be their trusted companion throughout their job search journey, offering:
Premiumization: Transparency in recruitment processes, candidate-recruiter messaging, and a robust CV Builder.
Personalization: Tailored job suggestions, skill assessments, and market comparison.


RECRUITERS

We streamlined their processes through:
Automation: Simplified job offer creation, pre-display of candidate profiles, and automated responses.
Pre-qualification: Integration of pre-qualification questions, shortlisting assistance, and candidate reference collection.

The journey never ends, there are more and more to come.

After we launched the  design across the core page in Cadre Emploi site, the foundation of the product became stronger that empower us to unblock more ideas we’d like to build & test, we kept working on optimizing the end to end user flow, conducting user research to know our users more, building more powerful features that help job seeker searching more efficient.
